1972:
The beginning of metalworking activity.
21.12.1974
Metal plant gains the status of legal entity.
1978:
The start of RING production for starter ring gears.
Delivering to customers in Yugoslavia: for Perkins engines for tractors, KHD engines for trucks, tractors and counter trade to KHD, Daimler engines for trucks. Military vehicles and counter trade to Daimler.
1980:
FAMOS Sarajevo awarded us with "golden plaque" for quality.
1982:
The start of STARTER RING GEAR (SRG) production for KHD engines for company TAM Maribor Company.
PERIOD OF CHALLENGES:
1990:
April: Our customer Torpedo Company declares bankruptcy; we loose 40% of orders,
November: flooding of the Savinja River; out of business for two months.
1991/1992:
Dissolution of Yugoslavia and east-European markets. We loose 90% of orders.
1993:
The start for SRG production for PSA flywheels (customer: CIMOS).
1996 -1997:
The start of SRG production for Italian market for FIAT.
2001:
CIMOS awards us with SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR 2000 award.
The first certificate ISO 9001:2000
2003:
CIMOS awards us with SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR 2002 award.
The start of SRG production for German and French market.
2004:
Certificate ISO/TS 16949
2005:
Huge increase of SRG deliveries to German customers.
The start of SRG deliveries to British market.
2006:
SCHAEFFLER Group awards us with: supplier of the year 2005 award
2007:
The start of SRG deliveries to Chinese market.
2008:
The start of SRG deliveries to new German customers.
2010:
The start of SRG deliveries to Austrian market.
Certificate ISO 14001:2004
KLS is awarded with Srebrna GAZELA 2010 (“Silver gazelle”) award on the national level for the second most successful fastest growing company in the country.
2011:
More than 50 million SRG made.
Our products built in engines of 28 car producers.
Market share: more than 50% in the EU and more than 13% globally.
The President of the Republic of Slovenia awards us with Zlata GAZELA 2011 (“Golden gazelle”) award on the national level for the most successful fastest growing company in the country.
2014:
Schaeffler Group honours KLS with Supplier of the year award for 2013
2016:
Schaeffler Group honours KLS with the Strategic partnership award
2017:
KLS was awarded EY Family Business of the Year Award 2017
